THE PORTRAIT

THIS IS THE LAY-IN.
THE LAYIN WAS A LOT OF FUN. YOU HAVE TO KEEP IN MIND THAT THE SUBJECT IS OUTSIDE AT THE BEACH. ALL VALUES ARE DIFFERENT OUTDOORS THAN INDOORS. (LIGHT AND SHADE)
REMEMBER TO ALWAYS KEEP IN MIND THE DRAWING. THE SUBJECT ALWAYS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN THE PAINTING. WITH A PORTRAIT IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT AT EVERY STAGE THE PERSON LOOKS LIKE THE PERSON YOU ARE PAINTING.
REMEMBER ALSO TO COVER THE ENTIRE SURFACE OF THE PAINTING. ALSO IT IS IMPORTANT TO SOFTEN THE ENTIRE PAINTING BEFORE YOU MOVE ON TO THE NEXT STAGE. THIS ENABLES YOU TO WORK THE PAINTING FROM SEVERAL AREAS. THE LIGHTS, DARKS,DRAWING, AND ALSO SOME OF THE EDGES.
